The Action Express team dominated the Rolex 24 the entire way throuh with drivers Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi and Filipe Albuquerque. The team came seconds close to the victory last year when they were spun out in turn 1 by the Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi in the final minutes of the 2017 race. This year saw the team take the checkered flag and the all-time distance record of the race too.
