The formula 1 steering wheel comes with an instruction booklet for drivers that is as thick as an encyclopedia. Every year switches and dials change that control new functions on their race car and they better know the ins and outs of this control when their race engineer needs them to make a change on the fly during practice, qualifying or the race itself.
