Today is the day for the beloved Italian brand Ferrari to debut their latest creation for the 2018 Formula 1 season. For the better part of the last year the Italian supercar maker has been designing and building their 2018 F1 entry in Maranello, Italy. Today the covers were removed to the public just ahead of the preseason testing that will start within the next week in Barcelona.
In 2018, the Ferrari is an evolution of the 2017 car with a few adjustments and modifications per the rules. The most distinguishing feature of the 2018 car is the driver halo system that all cars are required to include in their car design to protect the drive from any and all occasions that would put their life in danger. The halo is made out of titanium so the teams have all said they will be struggling with weight distribution and center of gravity with such a heavy piece of equipment attached to the top side of the carbon monocoque.

The Ferrari’s livery for 2018 has shed a little of the white color and more Ferrari red. A elimination of the Santander branding from the car shows that the Spanish bank decided to end their involvement in Formula 1 at the end of 2017. Santander was seen on all Ferrari F1 entries since 2009.
