This morning was the final unveiling of all the 2018 Formula 1 cars that will take on the World Championship battle around the world. This morning McLaren broke cover on their 2018 machine. The MCL33 has switched over the offseason from the underperforming Honda Formula 1 engine to the proven Renault engine.

The MCL33 is covered in a historic McLaren papaya orange from the 1960s. Like most of the 2018 Formula 1 cars the McLaren MCL33 is an evolution of last years car. Many said on the grid in 2017 that the McLaren had the best chassis but the engine was just not capable of delivering for the British team.
Fernando Alonso was the first of the two drivers to take to the wheel this Friday morning.

Eric Boullier has said, “We are humble about the challenge ahead, but feel we’ve prepared well, have a solid package that we can build upon and exploit as the season progresses, and have two excellent drivers who will make the difference in races.”
McLaren has not won a race since 2012. The last time McLaren was on the podium was 2014 at the fist race of the year in Australia where we saw Kevin Magnussen in second.
Executive Director at McLaren Zac Brown is looking optimistic and says success for the team would be “racing and qualifying at the front, getting on the podium”.
