Hilarious Online Shopping Mishaps

Let’s be honest; we don’t leave our houses because we want to. We venture out into the big, wide world (*shivers*) because we have to go to work and pay the bills. We don’t enjoy it. Far from it, y’all. Because of this, we do everything we can to stay inside for the rest of our day. We get our groceries delivered, we interact with humans on the television, we speak to our family on the phone, we stalk our enemies on social media, and we buy things we need online.
Unfortunately, online shopping isn’t always as impressive as it seems. You soon realize that catfishing lies beyond the realm of online dating, and some of the coolest products online are actually pretty different. They’re not the right size, they look VERY different from their pictures, or they are just a completely different product completely. Yep, these people found this out for themselves.

Not impressed

If you have a cat, you’ll know that they are the kings and queens of the castle. No matter how much you try to deny it, these cats rule the roost. They get what they want when they want, and they are spoiled beyond belief.
Unfortunately, this cat wasn’t too impressed when it realized that their castle was a little understated. It couldn’t even fit one adorable paw pad on that thing. Aww.

Surprise!

When you order something online, you have the option of leaving delivery instructions for your driver and the person sending the item. This allows them to store it in a safe space, or make a few special arrangements.
However, we’d advise against writing anything on detail within these instructions. This woman discovered this the hard way when her mum caught wind of the “surprise” party supplies. Well, you can’t knock them for trying.

A Little Small

If you’re the kind of person that is constantly on the lookout for new additions to your home, you probably can’t deny yourself a bargain. This person was the same, and they just couldn’t ignore this patterned rug that they found online.
It was a great price, it looked cool, and it would be a perfect addition to their hallway. There was just one problem. At least they found another use for it.

Peekaboo

Buying clothes online always comes with a little risk. YOLO though, right? When this customer fell in love with this cozy looking cardigan they found on the interweb, they decided to give it a go.
It was just a bit of material, so what could go wrong? Well, it seems as though a lot went wrong. What turned up on their doorstep was quite literally a piece of material with two holes in it.

A Geography Lesson

We’re no experts when it comes to geography, but we do know that the Eiffel Tower is not in London. Last time we checked it wasn’t, anyway. Because of this, we have to come to the conclusion that this is a pretty bad online shopping fail.
Let’s hope the description and picture of this product online was correct, and that the person who bought it didn’t know what they were getting themselves in for…

Pooh? Is that you?

If you need a few minutes to compose yourself after looking at this person, then we don’t blame you. We think we’ll be having nightmares for weeks. These sheet masks have proved to be hugely popular over the years, but we won’t be adding this one to our online shopping carts anytime soon.
It’s not cute, it’s not adorable, and it’s certainly not Pooh. Argh, we just can’t stop staring.

A Bargain

When you find a bargain online, it’s impossible not to buy it. So, when this person saw a television stand on Amazon for a very competitive price, she just couldn’t deny herself the luxury. Of course, there’s no denying the fact that it’s a beautiful television stand.
Is that oak? Actually, it’s probably not, considering it’s clear to see that this TV stand will be more at home in a doll’s house.

Real Yeezys

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years, you’ll know that Yeezy sneakers are the bomb diggity. Kanye West has made a few million from this business because Yeezy items aren’t cheap.
That doesn’t mean that people don’t try their luck and find cheaper alternatives, though. This person did receive Yeezy-esque slippers, but they were a little off the mark. Actually, they were really far away from the mark.

Cool Loafers

There are so many shoes out there in the world, and if you love buying sneakers, you probably have to give yourself a few conditions. Condition number one? Always buy second hand to save money.
Unfortunately, it’s hard to trust the people you interact with online, as this person soon realized that they weren’t going to receive the Nike trainers they paid for. They got some loafers instead. Geddit? Loaf? Bread? We’ll just leave.

The Perfect Fit

Your animals basically become your children, and you wouldn’t leave your kids out in the cold without a jacket, would you? We thought not. Because of this, one owner decided to purchase an adorable coat for their dog.
It looked perfect online, and they couldn’t wait for him to try it! We don’t know whether it shrunk in the wash or whether this was just an online shopping fail, but this dog looks so sad.

Designer Catwear

If you’re the kind of person that loves to buy branded products, there’s a high chance that you make your way around the internet looking for cheaper versions of the brands you love. After all, nobody wants to spend a few hundred dollars on a backpack.
This cheaper Converse backpack seemed like the ultimate bargain, but this customer soon realized why. At least this cat now looks super swaggy in his designer garmz.

Looking Purrfect

However, it seems as though online shopping fails aren’t all bad when it comes to the cats of the world. Sure, this crochet bikini wouldn’t fit the human that ordered it online, but it looks pretty special on this purffect kitty
In fact, it’s a little scary how well this fits the cat. Was this really designed for cats without us realizing it? If not, there’s a real gap in the market that we’d love to be filled.

A Little Different

When you check out products online, it’s good to remember that they can often be a little different when they aren’t being worn by models or photoshopped to trick customers.
If you forget, you might find yourself in a bit of a sticky situation – just like this woman. While we can’t say much about the bottom of the dress, the embellishments on top are slightly awry. Actually, it’s like a whole different dress.

False Advertising

Sometimes, the pictures online aren’t of the product on their own but are actually pictures of the product in action. After all, if you want to buy a heat-changing mug, you need to see what it’s going to look like when filled with cold and hot water.
That’s almost always the case, anyway. Sometimes, what looks like pictures of the product in action are actually pictures of the product. You know what we mean, right?

The Specifics

If you’re a little overwhelmed by the bargain in front of you online, you might want to look at the specifics. Too many vulnerable people have been struck down by the sizing curse, and we don’t want it to happen again.
This man thought he had scored the coolest rug for his room and even high-fived himself for being a competent adult. He swiftly retracted that high five once it arrived. We don’t blame him.

Cool Flippers

Unless you wear the same clothes every single day, you’ll know that buying clothes is a nightmare experience. Many people try to make it easier for themselves by buying these items online, but it seems as though this doesn’t always take the stress away.
After all, you put a whole lot of trust into the hands of these retailers, and you just assume that 32″ length jeans are really 32″ length jeans…

The Substitution

If you’ve ever ordered groceries online, you may have received a few substitutions. This occurs when your chosen store doesn’t have what you want in stock, so choose the closest thing to it as a replacement.
However, these substitutions can be a little strange. This woman ordered some daffodils to brighten up her living room, and she got some spring onions in response. We mean… we don’t even have any words right now.

The Model Look

Although the models who wear the clothes you love online look pretty darn incredible, it’s important to remember that things aren’t quite what they seem. These photos are altered, the clothes are clipped together to be as skin-tight as possible, and the whole thing is manipulated.
Unfortunately, most of us don’t realize this until the product actually turns up on our porch. We don’t think this woman will be wearing this anytime soon.

Making Sure

If you come across some furniture online that seems weirdly cheap, we have some advice for you. Step one: Read the instructions with a fine tooth comb. Step two: Realize that nothing that’s worth having comes cheap.
Step three: Understand that cheap furniture is normally cheap furniture for a doll’s house, and therefore not appropriate for full-size humans. Once you’ve completed these three steps, you’ll be able to shop safely online. You’re welcome.

A Dog’s Life

It seems as though more than one person has been struck down by the tiny-rug-trick, but this definitely worked in favor of this doggy.
After this pooch’s owner decided to risk it and buy a cheap rug online, they soon realized that it wasn’t quite the size that they wanted. Thankfully, this meant that this pup could have his very own rug that was his and his alone.

This person really wanted to buy a chopping board that caught the crumbs in the bottom, and they weren’t going to stop until they had one in their life. While they did eventually have one of these chopping boards to their name, it probably wasn’t what they were expecting.
You know, unless this person is going to make one of those tiny kitchen videos. Maybe they’re making a teeny tiny toasted sandwich.

We all know about those boots that were made for walking, but it seems as though these boots definitely weren’t made for walking. Not for a human, anyway.
This girl probably thought she was the ultimate money-saving expert when she found some cheap boots online for her Halloween costume, but she soon realized that this cheap price comes at a higher price. I mean, she could squeeze it, but it might hurt.

Flower Power

If you want to show someone you love them, flowers can definitely do the talking for you. Not literally, of course. When you buy them online, you are given a picture of flowers that are long gone – so you might want to remember that.
Every single bunch of flowers is different, and it just so happened that this bunch definitely didn’t look anything like the picture. Well, we could have told you that.

Monsters, Inc.

Let’s be honest; Sully may be a little miserable, but he’s definitely the monster you’d want to hug the most. So, why wouldn’t you want a giant Sully onesie? We’ve already ordered one for each day of the week.
Although we are considering returning them because Sully’s face isn’t quite as cute as we remember it from the film. In fact, he looks kinda weird, and we’re not sure we want to look at him anymore…

Princess Leia

When you have a costume party on the calendar, the internet can definitely be your costume friend. With the help of these costumes, you don’t have to worry about piecing together an outfit, because these companies do it for you!
If we could give you any advice, though, it would be to avoid the Princess Leia costume. Unless you change your mind and decide to go as a ghoul, of course. That could work.

Expectation vs. Reality

If you’ve ever used an online dating platform, you’ll know that appearances can be a little deceiving. The people you match with look a little different to their filtered photographs in person, and you soon realize that your expectations aren’t the same as your reality.
One wig fanatic found this out for themselves when they were catfished by this little red number. Yes, it’s certainly a little different.

The Mirror

This woman thought she had grabbed herself the ultimate bargain when she bought this “Floor-Length Mirror” online. She couldn’t wait to check out her full reflection and take fire emoji selfies in front of that thing.
Although this mirror would technically reach the floor if she placed it on the carpet, it’s not quite what she expected. A little smaller, perhaps. Just a smidge smaller. Like, a tad smaller.

Cooking Up A Storm

Buying appliances and utensils for your kitchen can be an expensive business. There are so many pots, pans, and other items that you need, and it seems as though the list never ends.
So, this customer decided to cut some costs and buy a super cheat pot and pan set to cook up a storm in the kitchen. Although it was pretty good quality, they were only big enough to cook up a slight breeze.

Dressing Up

Hands up who would buy the vintage flamingo dress on the left? Yep, so would we! This beautiful dress looks like a winner, so we don’t blame this woman for buying it.
Unfortunately, things just weren’t meant to be, because this dress became the ultimate flamingo catfish. Not only does it look completely different, but it also doesn’t fit the woman. Why is it so short? Did the flamingos nibble off the hem?

The Mask

There’s a high chance that you’ve used one of these sheet masks before because they are pretty darn impressive. While they do look a bit scary when they take over your whole face, the benefits definitely outweigh the fact that you look like a ghost.
However, this woman probably wasn’t too happy when this face mask barely covered her forehead. We don’t know whose head is that small, because that’s impressive.

The Oversized look

If you’re up to date with your fashion, you’ll know that the over sized look is totally in. It’s cool to have baggy jeans, and it’s even cooler to have a jacket that’s slightly larger than your body. Of course, there is a point where this becomes ridiculous.
Need some proof? Well, just look at this. The jacket looks perfect on the model, but it seems as though the coat is a little larger on a normal human.

Pinky Ring

Although most people like to buy their wedding rings in an actual shop, there are others who decide to risk it. They buy their rings online and hope that the description matches up with the finished product.
These rings didn’t quite fit the bill, as you can see by the fact that this tiny thing wouldn’t even fit on their pinky finger. What even is this? Is it a ring for ants?

A Fancy Chair

Buying furniture online is a great way to get someone else to deliver it. After all, you don’t want to squash a leather armchair into your car. It just wouldn’t work.
So, this guy was pretty darn happy with himself when he spotted this cool leatherette armchair on the internet. Little did he know that it wasn’t an adult chair at all, but one for a kid. At least he can still sit in it?

Family-Sized

To be honest, we want to find one of those giant family-sized blankets and wandering around our house with it. I mean, how cozy does that look?! On customer obviously thought the same as us, and decided to try it out for size.
What they then realized was that the size wasn’t as advertised at all. In fact, this looks like someone just shoved a load of yarn in the mail. That’s what they did, right?

Bob Moss

Bob Ross will always be a legend in the world of popular culture, so it comes as no surprise to learn that these kinds of products exist. After all, who wouldn’t want to go cress from his head?
Well, you might have to put these plans on hold, because someone who actually bought this product online soon realized that it wasn’t quite the same. In fact, Bob is balding a little.

Not to Scale

When you find a product that you really love online, your eyes probably move over to the price tag before anything else. You need to know how much it’s going to set you back, and you need to know whether you can afford it.
When you notice that it’s pretty cheap, you add it to your basket straight away without thinking it through. Our advice? Always look at the sizes and the dimensions.

Tent For Two

Camping is pretty fun, right? However, it’s also pretty expensive. Getting all the gear can cost you a few hundred dollars, so we don’t blame people for trying to cut costs every now and then.
This man thought he had found the ultimate bargain in this two-person tent. What he didn’t realize was that it meant two tiny people, rather than two adult people. Even then it looks pretty small.

If you’ve ever looked at your living room and wondered what was missing, you might want to look into buying a rug. It can add a pop of color to your room, it can add a new texture, and it can just make it look more homely.
That’s what this man thought when he ordered this purple rug online, but he did wonder whether the price was a little too good to be true. The verdict? It was.

The Husky Cuddle

Cuddly toys always go down well with kids and adults alike, and you can never have too many plush animals in your home. Because of this, one parent bought this adorable husky for their son.
After all, bigger is better when it comes to soft toys, right? This kid soon realized that appearances can be deceiving, because this husky was a little smaller than the one advertised. A lot smaller, in fact.

Everyone wants dinosaurs in their lives, and there’s no doubt about the fact that we’d buy a dinosaur pillow in a heartbeat. However, make sure you look at the photo before you order.
That’s because we all that that little kid was a model showing off the cuteness of the pillow. It turns out that he’s actually part of the design. No, we have no idea why either. It’s one of life’s mysteries.

Legs for Days

One of the biggest problems that comes part and parcel with online shopping is the fact that everyone is a different size. Some people are short, some are tall, and apparently, some are giants.
Yes, this woman found herself in a bit of a bind when she ordered these flares and realized that she’d have to wear 3-foot-high heels for them to fit. Maybe it would be better to just return them.

Bear Necessities

If you want one of the coolest and biggest plush bears in the business, then you need to prepare yourself for a hefty price tag. After all, these toys aren’t cheap.
One customer was more than willing to shell out over $100 on this bear but had no idea that they were buying a bear with giant legs. Maybe this owner and the previous woman should team up with those legs.

Planning your outfit for a costume party can be a nightmare, but if you want to take on the role of an animal, it’s always a good idea to wear a tail. It’s the ultimate sign of the animal, you know.
However, it’s fair to say that this customer received a bit of a shock when she received this particular “tail.” Just take a good look at it. You’ll get it.

Blocking the Sun

The main aim of drapes is to cover block the sun and to block the outside world when you want some privacy. So basically all of the time, right? Of course, these drapes only serve their purpose if the material covers the entirety of the window or door.
This guy was a little confused when he bought some drapes and received this tiny little thing. I mean, that’s not going to do anything.

Sometimes you just want to keep things clear and simple when you’re online shopping, and there’s no doubt about the fact that this product does just that.
After all, the picture that we see on the page is exactly the picture that is posted on the mug, but we have a feeling that the person who bought it was expecting something else. In fact, we think everyone would expect something else.

Chairs can be pretty expensive if you buy them in stores or online, but you can find some cheap ones if you know where to look. Many online retailers offer discounted chairs, and one homeowner couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw the price of two dining chairs on a particular site.
They just had to buy them, didn’t they? Well, this was the result. Yes, this is a table for ants, thank you very much.

When the sun begins to beat down, and things get a little too hot to handle, it’s always a good idea to invest in a small pool. Of course, you probably won’t be able to buy an Olympic-sized pool to fit in your backyard, but you can buy a little blow-up one.
Make sure you take note of just how small it is, though. Otherwise, you might be a little surprised when it turns up.

When you buy items online, you just expect them to be as they are online. It’s just like buying things in store, right? Unfortunately, that just isn’t the case. Many sellers will try and swindle money from customers around the world, and it seems as though this customer became one of their victims.
Unless you want to weigh a tiny cockroach, we don’t think these will come in handy at all.

We all want to be the little spoon, right? Well, this kitchen utensil is definitely the big spoon. Of course, this wasn’t what the customer expected when they bought this ladle online. They were expecting a normal-sized spoon that would be like any other on the internet or in stores.
The world works in mysterious ways, though, and this spoon is truly something special. At least you get more bang for your buck.

Everyone needs a camping stove in their life. However, there’s a high chance that you will only use this stove once or twice a year. So, you don’t need anything fancy or expensive, right?
One wife bought her husband this camping stove, but she didn’t realize just how small it would be. Yes, this is proof that appearances really can be deceiving, because we don’t think this would be useful in cooking anything…
