Dangerous Freeway Onramp In San Dimas, California Causes SUV To Fall Down Embankment Hitting Other Cars

A rollover crash on a freeway onramp in California last week is just the latest in a series of crashes on a ramp that residents say is too dangerous.
A video shared by Jen Astengo, the owner of Salvage Hair Studio in San Dimas, shows an SUV rolling down the hill from the northbound 57 Freeway onramp off Arrow Highway on May 31, crashing into a parked car behind the salon.
The SUV rolled over multiple times as it tumbled down the hill, and came to a rest upside down one top of a red car.
Business owners at that location say vehicles frequently slide off the ramp, and have called for guardrails.
The California Department of Transportation, or Caltrans, has said it will investigate safety issues at the onramp.
“Caltrans transportation engineers will review the area to determine potential safety improvement needs, per standard practice,” the agency said in a statement. “Factors that will be considered during this evaluation will include current roadway conditions, traffic patterns, typical driver behavior, and a review of any traffic incidents or crashes, among other factors.”
