The 2018 Rolex 24 was as action packed as ever with one of the largest crowds present and some of the most competitive entries to ever hit the Daytona International Speedway for the grueling 24 hour endurance race. Yet, we can say the way was in some way calm in the category of on track incidences involving crashes. One of the major incidents in the race was actually a golf cart incident in turn 4. The results are in after the long endurance race with the DPi (Daytona Prototype International) class taking the overall victory with the No.5 Mustang Sampling Cadillac DPi. The Action Express team dominated the Rolex 24 the entire way throuh with drivers Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi and Filipe Albuquerque. The team came seconds close to the victory last year when they were spun out in turn 1 by the Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi in the final minutes of the 2017 race. This year saw the team take the checkered flag and the all-time distance record of the race too.
